Buying Pennsylvania Real Estate

if considering a move to Pennsylvania, review the information before buying Pennsylvania real estate.

Pennsylvania Population

The population of Pennsylvania has increased 1.3 per cent over the last few years indicating modest growth but lots of opportunities for those considering buying Pennsylvania real estate. Pennsylvania’s rural communities are home to those of the Amish faith whose work ethics and modest way of life contribute to the state’s economy and tourism sectors. For those interested in life in the city, Pennsylvania’s largest cities include Philadelphia, Harrisburg, the state capital, Pittsburgh, Allentown, Erie, Upper Darby Twp, Reading, Scranton, Bethlehem, Lancaster and Lower Merion Township.

Pennsylvania Economy

Pennsylvania ranks as the sixth wealthiest state in the country with the manufacturing centers of Pittsburgh and Philadelphia. Many Fortune 500 companies are headquartered in Pennsylvania including AmerisourceBergen, Sunoco, Comcast, Rite Aid, Cigna, US Steel, Aramark, H.J. Heinz, Unisys, Hershey, Bon-Ton Stores, Dick’s Sporting Goods and Pep Boys. Agriculture is also an important factor in Pennsylvania’s economy with products including mushrooms, Christmas trees, corn, horses, poultry, hogs, cattle, dairy products and nursery stock. Tourism is a big factor in Pennsylvania’s economy due to the historic sites around the Philadelphia area.

Pennsylvania Tourism and Recreation

Many of Pennsylvania’s tourists include visits to Philadelphia to see the Liberty Bell, Independence Hall and the steps of the Philadelphia Museum of Art, the setting for an iconic scene in the film, Rocky. Another major area interesting to tourists is the Pennsylvania Dutch Country in the Lancaster area where members of the Amish and Mennonite religions still practice their religions and subsequent rural lifestyles. Those interested in more outdoors oriented activities will be drawn to state parks and venues such as Hershey Park, Sesame Place, Splash Lagoon, Kennywood and Dorney Park & Wildwater Kingdom. Professional sports are well represented in Pennsylvania with the Philadelphia Phillies, the Pittsburgh Pirates, the Pittsburgh Steelers, the Philadelphia Eagles, the Philadelphia 76ers, the Pittsburgh Penguins and the Philadelphia Flyers.

Pennsylvania’s state slogan says that "Memories Last a Lifetime" and if you’re considering buying Pennsylvania real estate you’re sure to find that’s true.
